1940 Buick Super 4D Convertible Limousine

Beginning of 1940 the Buick Series 50 got more up-scaled amenities and his additional designation “Super”.

The Phaeton Cabriolet was delivered with 4 doors as a special execution additional to the available 2 doors Cabriolet, 2 doors Coupé and a 4 doors Limousine.

The “Super” had a wheelbase of 3073 (powered by an 8V engine) with 107 hp by 3400 min, with completely new bodywork, without footboards but in the front finders it had integrated headlights. The radiator grill had horizontal designed bars as well as a wide in the center greatly increased form.

This convertible execution is a rare 4 door one. The original paint is still there and in a good condition with nice shine. The inside vinyl has been replaced and it got his new paint, many chrome/steel parts has been re-polished, also a new Hartz-Cloth soft top has been mounted. It has factory radio, heather and original ivory steering wheel. The white wall wires and the spare wire are new as well. The bumper jack is the original. A new car top cover is included.

2015 the engine was fully serviced, wires partly replaced, oil and brake fluid changed. Undercarriage and under body the gas tank has been cleaned.

This car starts, runs and drives smooth, quiet and powerful.

It’s a rare car as it is one of 856 made.
